Painting opens me up to the magic of the moment, which is beginning and end, past and future, present and eternity.
In this moment I am completely with myself, find my inner strength and carry it outwards in my paintings. My pictures invite you to discover this very calmness, your inherent power and thus the key to your own potential...
In my paintings, I touch the borderline between night and day, darkness and light.
I open up opportunities for intense awareness, meditative engagement and emotional exploration.
A duality of the same truth, the point where the transcendent touches the present.
When I encounter this light in my inner darkness, I touch the boundaries of eternity.
The power inherent in me is liberated at this very moment and unfolds my potential.
In each new work, I courageously embark on a journey to myself, to inner clarity, to moments of intuitive calm.
In these moments, I unleash my unconscious forces and carry them out into my reality.
When I paint, I immerse myself with all my senses in this unique moment, which I experience, live and enjoy as boundless.
From the uncertainty, the question, the darkness within me, a moment of meditation, a haven of peace, emerges anew with each new work.
In this unique moment of awakening, this opens up my source of strength for the rebirth of my inner self.
In this awakening, I feel an irrepressible joy in life in all its uniqueness, beauty, sensuality, strength and peace, which arise from the darkness and night, day and light of my inner self.
With my paintings, I would like to invite you as a viewer to feel and enjoy the moment of “now” and to arrive at this moment of inner peace.
To be completely with yourself in order to draw new strength and creativity from it.
My works are designed as expressionistic, experimental abstractions in postmodern reality.
For me, nature is the most direct source of inspiration for my art.
Consequently, the abstract landscape revealed itself to me as the first possible expression of the duality between light and darkness of what is hidden in the soul and became the starting point for my artistic observations.
From this developed my curiosity about the penetration of emotional states and experiences to which we are exposed in the constant confrontation with our postmodern society.
Giving this being as well as nature an intuitive expression and enabling the viewer to access this respective emotional state in a magical moment of interaction with the artwork and thus a deep penetration of their own individuality is currently my creative drive and inspiration.
Hella Ridder is a German painter.
She was born in Daun in the Eifel region in 1974 and was discovered artistically at an early age, individually encouraged and accompanied in her personal development by the German artist H. Rötter until around 2001. She turned to abstract painting as an emotionally and intuitively guided means of expression during this first creative period.
On the solid foundation of artistic training, he has developed his own style and style since 2015, which is experimentally designed for the continuous development of new forms of expression and experiences with the aim of a constant development of artistic creation in abstraction.
The observation of nature as well as the observation of human emotionality as a source of inspiration remain constant companions. Hella Ridder is represented by galleries in Germany and abroad and regularly takes part in national and international exhibitions whose works are presented both internationally and nationally and are in demand by art collectors. After living in Istanbul and the Rhineland, she now lives in Dortmund.
My works are designed as expressionistic, experimental abstractions with impressionistic influences in postmodern reality.
I choose colors intuitively to convey moods and impressions rather than focusing on realistic representations.
I use shapes and composition specifically to realize my artistic vision, which is based on the balance of contrasts, colors and color dynamics as an emotional effect.
I mostly work with acrylic on canvas, occasionally in combination with pastels.
I am fascinated by the variation of brush, palette knife and squeegee techniques in my compositions.
I create dynamics with every brushstroke, which contributes to my paintings leaving a lasting impression on the viewer
Blending techniques in thick layers of wet paint, the use of a dry brush can be found in my works as well as fine relief-like structures that seem to transfer the two-dimensional work of art into three-dimensional reality.
Through the multiple and elaborate application of different colors and layers, I achieve a special depth effect in my paintings, which is often linked to approaches of a central perspective.
By deliberately leaving some lines open, I allow the viewer to bring their own creative process of recognition into my paintings.
Every creative work requires sensitive attention to detail – sometimes in barely perceptible nuances.
It is the details that contribute to achieving the desired overall effect, which is why I always pay the same attention to each individual detail as I do to the work as a whole.
The visualized emotion emerges from the overall harmony of designed details as a complete picture.

In the world of art, the artist Hella Ridder is an explorer, a creator of worlds that lie beyond the visible horizon.
Her tool is the paintbrush, her canvas a gateway to another dimension.
The picture she creates is not just a representation, but a revelation, a glimpse into the soul of matter itself. The surface of her work is rough and lively, reminiscent of the rough texture of an old house wall, but in this apparent simplicity lies a deeper meaning.
The colors – white, light blue, dark blue and yellow – are not chosen at random, but carefully composed to form a landscape that is both fascinating and alien.
It could be of this world or not, a place rooted in the artist’s imagination and brought to life by her hands.
The artist herself is a philosopher who poses questions through her art that are older than time itself.
What is reality?
What is illusion?
Her paintings are answers that cannot be expressed in words, but only through the language of colors and shapes.
She is an alchemist who transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, who combines the visible with the invisible. Her experimental painting is a dialog with the viewer, an invitation to question one’s own perception and to see the world with new eyes.
It is a work that not only wants to be viewed but also experienced, a work of art that bridges the space between the here and the there, the now and the eternal.
This is the artist: a master of the imagination, a guardian of the secrets of the universe, a storyteller who takes us on a journey through her paintings, on which we can perhaps learn a little more about ourselves and the world around us
